F.A.Q.

I am nervous about getting a massage.  What can I expect?
Often, if this is your first treatment, you will be nervous.  This is normal.  Part of your treatment is to help you relax.  When you arrive, Brad will sit and talk to you about your concerns & medical history.  Brad will also discuss your treatment goals and management plan.  Afterward, you will be left in private, to disrobe.  You will have a sheet & blanket to cover yourself.  The techniques used will depend on your needs

When should I arrive?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can prepare for your massage.  After your massage, you are welcome to use our Sitting Area.

How will I feel after the massage?

Relaxed!  In addition, you will experience relief from aches & pains.  Clients often experience a sense of well-being, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.  Since toxins are released from your soft tissues, it is important you drink plenty of water, 6-8 glasses over the next 2 days.  Brad also recommends an Epsom Salt bath within 12 hours to help relax the muscles and flush out toxins.

How will a massage feel?

It all depends on the treatment required.  Generally, a massage will start with lighter strokes & rocking and depending on the treatment; the appropriate pressure will then be applied.  It is important that you the client, and Brad have an open line of communication and understanding.

How long does the affect of treatment last?

The duration of the effects of treatment vary a great deal from person to person.  If you are receiving treatment to help heal an injury or get rid of chronic pain, you may need weekly or bi-weekly treatment to reach your goal.  If you are getting treatment as prevention or as part of your wellness plan, you have more leeway in determining how often you wish to receive treatment.  The effects of regular treatment are cumulative.  Treatment every week or two makes a substantial difference in overall heath and stress levels.

Will oils or lotions be used?

Brad uses a very high-quality Massage Gel.  Also, essential oils may be mixed with the Gel to increase the therapeutic advantages of treatment.

What should I wear during a massage?

For a full body massage, most people undress completely.  However, you may leave your briefs on, if you wish.  You will be given privacy to undress, and you will be covered with a sheet & blanket at all times, except for the area being worked on.

What are the benefits of treatment?

Research has shown that alternative treatments increase blood circulation to muscles and soft tissue, aids in toxin release, increases lymph flow and endorphins, reduces heart rate and boosts energy levels.  Benefits vary according to the type of treatment.

How often do I need to go?

This is dependent on your condition and the type of treatment required.  After treatment, Brad will give you guidelines to follow regarding frequency of visits.

What if I have to cancel?

Things come up, so if you must cancel an appointment, please try to give at least 24 hours notice.

What form of payment is accepted?

We accept cash, cheque, debit or credit cards

Do I need a Doctor’s referral?

Usually, you do not require a referral from a doctor.  However, certain Insurance Plans may require such a referral to be covered.  Check with your Insurance Plan if you intend that your treatment is to be covered. Please note that since Brad is NOT an RMT, most insurance companies will not cover his massages.
